It is what it is.
Being Creative
From my earliest memories, I have always been concerned with logic, empathy, expression, and causality. These concepts were never explicitly nurtured by my parents or teachers, but the journey has made all the difference. I often felt like I was swimming upstream, resisting the expectations others had for me, or outright defying inertia. For a while, the creative people in my orbit were like those students who made "A's" without studying, and while this may be reductively simplistic, it made me feel inadequate and unworthy to be on the same journey since I was so far behind. My goals are not to use my creativity for monetary fulfillment, rather they are my tools for self-healing, expressing love, and finding ways to grow in my faith that above all else we are commonly linked by our blood to each other. My truth is that I do what I do for me.

"Conversations" is a podcast I do where I spotlight important mental health or educational issues, great stories from locals who have lived extraordinary lives, and/or people who doing the work as a creative.
I keep it local to Myrtle Beach, my home, because for tourists it's one thing, but if you live here, you know what I'm talking about . . .it's special.
The Fresh Catch
RJ and I are life-long friends, having met when I was teaching him English when he was 16 years old. He later took my Broadcast Journalism class and caught the creative bug that has dominated much of my life. We seek out restaurants that are serving up great food but, in our opinion, are flying under the radar. Our podcast is intended to help our friends (restauranteurs) as well as help our local community thrive.

Original Music
Music is a passion. I love what I love and I write what comes to me. How good am I? You can hear my influences, but you can tell that I am not an imitater, and that is because I am a compensater. I am a lefty who plays right handed due to a ?bad finger." So I play in ways that work for me to the benefit of my song, idea, or feeling. I love music so much that I have to try, and the pro's far outweigh the criticism of someone who feels superior. So in the immortal words of Florence Gene Castlebury: "kiss my grits!"
